St. George Education Society’s Christ Academy, Koparkhairne, Navi Mumbai is a venture of CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) Priests, pioneers in the field of modern education. CMI is the first indigenous religious congregation of Catholic Priests, founded by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara in 1831 at Mannanam in Kerala. St. George Education Society, registered under Bombay Public Trust Act (BPT 1860), procured a school plot from City and Industrial Development Cooperation (CIDCO) for a composite school. Carmel Pre-School-a home away from home for the Tiny Tots is the kindergarten section of Christ Academy.
